Our print facility allows for a 6 colour process. Cards are printed 21 up on sheets of pvc, which are collated and laminated in a large press, then die punched, identical to the manner in which credit cards are manufactured. This process means that, unlike dye-sublimation, thermal transfer or re-transfer, the print is absolutely secure beneath a hermetically sealed substrate and integral to the overall homogenous construction, making any fraudulent change at least evident, at most impossible. At the collation stage, the “machine readability” may be included generally magstripe within the overlaying laminate, or contactless inlays for smart card applications.
